Other courses using Quincy may change some settings which
prevent your program's output from appearing. If this happens (i.e. your
cout's don't display, go to Tools/Options and click on the Run Tab. Make
sure that "No Options" is selected. |

working for some students. If that is the case for you, here are instructions for
downloading and installing the non-portable version of Dev C++. Please go to

If you are having trouble getting Quincy to run properly on your PC,
check in the following location and make sure that you have the proper path. After opening Quincy, go to "Tools" and then "Options". On the Build tab,
make sure that the Path for the compiler is referencing the mingw folder. If you
followed the default installation options, it should be "C:\Program Files\quincy\mingw\"
If you installed Quincy to a different location on your PC, say "D:\quincy", then
the path should be "D:\quincy\mingw" |

For those of you that are using a Mac, I have talked to
a few other people that have taught the 240 course as well as a few students, and the
consensus is that Xcode is what many Mac users have used to write their C++
programs. It's available for free (at least that's my understanding) at:
http://developer.apple.com/technology/xcode.html
You have to create a free ADC membership in order to download Xcode. |
